Infidelity DNA Testing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Infidelity DNA Questions

Top Questions About Infidelity DNA Testing Answered

Infidelity DNA testing is a discreet and scientific way to uncover physical evidence when suspicions arise in a relationship. Whether you're considering Semen Detection, Saliva Detection, or Advanced DNA Comparison Testing, or a combination of these tests (Complete Infidelity Test), it’s important to understand how these tests work and what they can reveal. Below, we answer the most common questions about infidelity DNA testing to help you make informed decisions.

1. What Is Infidelity DNA Testing?

Infidelity DNA testing analyzes items such as clothing, bedding, or tissues to detect bodily fluids like semen or saliva or to compare DNA from an unknown source with a reference sample. The goal is to confirm whether biological material is present and, if possible, identify whose DNA it is.

2. What Types of Infidelity DNA Tests Are Available?

There are different types of tests available, depending on what evidence needs to be analyzed:

3. How Accurate Is Infidelity DNA Testing?

Infidelity DNA tests use forensic-grade laboratory techniques to detect bodily fluids and extract DNA. Tests like semen detection using semenogelin markers are highly accurate. In fact semen detection using semenogelin is highly sensitive and does not give false positives, like many over the counter tests available at pharmacies or retail stores.

However, the accuracy of results depends on factors such as sample quality, contamination, age of the sample, and degradation.

4. What Items Can Be Tested?

Common items submitted for infidelity DNA testing include:

  • Underwear and clothing

  • Bed linens and towels

  • Tissues or wipes

  • Surfaces suspected of containing bodily fluids (can be gathered using clean swabs or Q-tips).

  • Personal items (e.g., toothbrushes) for DNA comparison

5. Can Infidelity DNA Testing Prove Cheating?

While DNA tests can confirm the presence of bodily fluids or foreign DNA, they do not provide context. A positive semen detection result, for example, only confirms the presence of semen but does not indicate exactly when or how it was deposited. A DNA comparison test can match or exclude DNA to an individual, which may provide additional insight.

6. What Is the Turnaround Time for Results?

At Validity Genetics, most results are available in 3-7 business days for standard semen and DNA tests. Forensic samples, which require more detailed analysis, typically take 5-7 business days.

7. How Are Samples Collected?

Clients collect and submit personal oral DNA samples using a provided infidelity DNA collection kit. If an immediate test is needed, instructions can be sent electronically so a sample can be collected using common household materials.

Samples other then an oral swab, clothing or undergarments for example, can be gathered and labeled according to the instructions given on our product webpages or in the order confirmation.

8. Can a Test Detect If a Sample Has Been Washed?

While washing can degrade DNA, forensic testing can sometimes detect trace amounts of bodily fluids or DNA even after laundering. The success of testing depends on how thoroughly the item has been cleaned, how many times it has been washed since the suspected event has taken place, and how much biological material remains.

9. Can a Test Be Performed Without the Other Person Knowing?

Yes, but DNA comparison testing requires a reference sample. If you wish to compare DNA, you will need an item that contains DNA from the suspected individual, such as a toothbrush or used tissue. All samples summited for infidelity testing are tested under implied consent from the client.

10. Is Infidelity DNA Testing Confidential?

Yes. All testing is conducted with the utmost confidentiality. Samples are handled securely, and results are provided only to the client in a private report.

For additional levels of discretion we can send electronic instructions for creating DNA collection kits from household materials instead of mailing a collection kit to the client. Simply include instructions at checkout asking for this or send an email to Info@ValidityGenetics.com with a request and your Order Number.

Infidelity DNA Testing: What to Keep in Mind

Infidelity DNA testing offers a scientific, discreet way to uncover physical evidence when suspicions arise. Whether you’re testing for semen detection, saliva, or performing a DNA comparison, understanding the process and results is essential. If you’re considering a test, ensure you choose the right method for your situation and submit high-quality samples for the most reliable results.
